I went to Georgia in 2005 and took classes on forensic cranial facial reconstruction from Ann Moreland. I am now certified to do forensic sculpture. However, it is very hard to get any of the police departments to give me the opportunity to help them to identify skeletal remains. I have been asked by all of the ones I have approached what municipality I have done this for. My answer is none so far because no one will give me the chance. Some police departments don't even realize that forensic sculpture is even possible or available to help identify skeletal remains when other means such as dental records, etc. are unsucessful.
Anyway, here are pictures of the reconstuctions I did from the skulls Ann Moreland provided in the classes. I was told that there is a resembalance to the actual persons who skulls we reconstructed.
I can only hope that some day a police department or a medical examiner's office will hire me to do a reconstruction for them. I would love to help bring closure to families that otherwise may never know what happened to a lost loved one.
